At the ALC, one of our priorities is building reading skills and growth in our students. Teachers have been using a tool called Diffit to help provide reading material at each student's individual reading level. This year, our Diffit stats show that students have spent 68, 751 minutes reading!

Thank you to all of the individuals and organizations in the community who donated toward our Food Pantry this month. We not only stocked our pantry, but created 23 shelf-stable food bags to give to families. Each bag was paired with a Hyvee-donated meal bag ($15 coupon for a turkey/substituted item, potatoes, cookies, Jello, and vegetables). With all of the food donations, we'll be able to create another 30 bags to distribute to families before winter break. #grateful #communitysupport

Our ninth grade students had a mini-celebration! These students are On Track with their attendance, grades, and community participation. (This is part of a bigger district Freshman On Track initiative. Research shows that these factors are among the most impactful indicators of students' success and likelihood of graduating on time.) Keep up the great work, students!
